Marks In English, You Must Know!

Yes, various marks in English depart various meanings. Knowing then will increase one’s fluency. On the contrary, not knowing then will also decearse one’s potentiality.

1) Single Quotation. (‘ ‘)

Everyone knows about the double quotation. But vary few know about the difference between single and double quotations.A single quotation is used to refer words. While a double quoation os used to impart someone’s said words directly.

2) 3 Dots.

Dots in English are used for 2 different purposes.

● to end a sentence.

● to refer that a sentence is long enough.

But we dont know how to use dots for the second purpose perfectly. While mentioning a long sentence or paragraph with dots , one should always use 3 dots. More than 3 dots can be used for informal conversations.

Example:

I’ve got an invitation to my father’s friend’s neice’s……. ❌️.

3) Excalamation mark (!)

Several exclamation marks can be used in infromal conversations, but in formal writings, a single Excalamation mark is the correct use.

Example : What a pretty bird it is!!!!! (Informal)
