In Islamic eschatology, the narrative of Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog) stands as one of the most significant and formidable Major Signs (Al-Alamat al-Kubra) preceding the Day of Judgment. First introduced in the Quran in Surah Al-Kahf, these two vast, chaotic tribes were notorious for spreading corruption, violence, and ruin across the lands. The physical release of Yajuj and Majuj will occur near the end of time, following major precursor events, including the appearance and defeat of the Dajjal (the False Messiah) and the return of Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him). Once the barrier crumbles, millions upon millions of them will swarm down from every elevation in an overwhelming tide. Their numbers will be so staggering that as their vanguard passes the Sea of Galilee, they will drink it completely dry, leaving nothing for those who follow behind. Their sheer presence will bring unprecedented hardship, consuming resources and spreading terror across the land.
Ultimately, humanity will find no physical means to defeat such an immense force; their end will come purely through divine intervention. Prophet Isa and the believers will pray fervently to Allah for deliverance, in response to which Allah will send a plague of parasitic worms (naghadh) that will strike the necks of Yajuj and Majuj, causing them to perish all at once. The story of Yajuj and Majuj serves as a profound reminder for Muslims regarding the absolute power of Allah, the temporary nature of worldly trials, and the ultimate certainty of divine justice at the end of time..
